Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) has introduced ENDA. This is a bill that we can really get behind, as it would protect all workers from discrimination, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Currently, in 38 states, a worker can be fired from a job simply for being transgender. In 30 states, a worker can be fired simply for being lesbian, gay or bisexual, or because someone believes they are. I believe that taking away a person's livelihood, simply because of who she or he is, is an affront to the United States' potential as the standard bearer for equality, and a disgrace to every American. Everyone has a right to work. People's job security -- and the financial security of their families -- should not depend on whether their state or city provides protection from discrimination. That is why it is so important that you support the ENDA bill that will protect all workers based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
