Support School Conferences and Activities Leave for Working Parents

Background

The School Conferences and Activities Leave Bill (AB116) would enable parents to more actively participate in their children's education. This bill allows any parent working at a business with at least 50 employees to take up to 16 hours of unpaid leave in a 12-month period to support their kid's scholastic development. This is a solution that supports parental involvement without increasing the cost of doing business.

Dear Assembly Member,


I'm a voter and I support the bill number AB 116, School Conferences and Activities Leave Bill. This would allow parents (working at a business with 50+ employees to take some unpaid leave for their child's school activities. When these meetings and awards ceremonies can't be scheduled at other times, mothers and fathers need job-protected time to support their kids academic achievement.

Everyone talks about the importance of parental involvement in education achievement... let's have some action behind those words!
